You can bring all of your plastic bags, regardless of where they came from, to any ReStore container. You can find ReStore containers in most RI supermarkets, big-box retailers, and pharmacies.
With the exception of Saran wrap (which is made of PVC, and is NOT accepted), a good rule of thumb for determining which materials are accepted in the ReStore Program is to try stretching the plastic with your thumb. If it's easy, it's in. The following are major examples of what is accepted in ReStore containers. These need to be clean and dry:
- All shopping bags
- Dry cleaning bags
- Newspaper bags
- Bread bags
- Bagel bags
- Paper towel and toilet paper overwrap
- Produce bags
- Mattress bags
- Shrink wrap from cases of beverages
- Electronic overwrap
The following is a list of participating stores: ALDI markets, Bennys, Burlington Coat Factory, CVS, Kohls Department Stores, Lowes Home Improvement, Price Rite markets, Rite Aid, Shaws markets and Wal-Mart Stores.
